Bentley's Room

How low can you go...

Okay so I lied, my NEXT post will be of Bentley's room :) I would have had it done, but I had a minor mishap when sewing the curtains. I swear I double checked before I started, but once I was finished and lifted them up, low and behold, I sewed the bottom half on backwards...pretty discouraging considering I would have been done had I not lol So anyways, I have to take them apart and re-sew the right sides together THEN her room will be done!

In the mean time here are some belly pics for ya...

She is getting so so so low.
When I walk I feel like my girl parts are ripping inside from the pressure!!

We have all the baby stuff put together and out already so that the girls (our dogs) get used to seeing it out and aren't in so much shock when we bring this crying baby home.
Well this is the use David has found for his daughter's swing...

Just wait until she's here. I have this vision plus her strapped to his chest in the baby carrier. As long as we're getting use out of the swing before she gets here right? :)

Baby Shower

My shower was AMAZING! My Mom & Kelli did such a good job and I know they worked very very hard. I can't thank them enough!!! We got soooo much stuff. Adorable clothes, blankets, toys, books, books and books :) Not to mention the really big stuff...pack n' play, stroller, car seat, high chair...and gift cards for diapers down the road! We're all set and ready for this little one to come. I'm so relieved that we don't have to worry about shelling out a lump sum to get what she'll need. Saving for the month or so that I won't be working has been challenging enough! We love all our friends and family and thank you ALL for all the help you've given us!

I've done loads and loads of laundry and spent quite a few hours putting everything away and I'm still not quite done! I was up at 6:45 am after going to bed at 1am because I was so excited to get everything organized and put away. I'm lagging a bit now, but It's been worth the long day. Give me another couple days and the room will be all done and ready for pictures :) My next post will be her room, finally.
Stay tuned....

Baby & Belly updates

Today was my 32 week appointment. We had an ultrasound to check all Bentley's measurements and to see how much fluid there is around her. She weighs 3lbs 15oz, so just 1oz shy of 4lbs. She's in the 14th percentile for size (on the smaller end of normal), but just perfect given how big or small I should say, I am. She has dropped quite a bit and is head down, but at the time of the ultrasound was facing up instead of down. My doctor is going to check to see if I'm dilated at my 36 week appointment which is October 6th, unless I start having some pre-term labor pains she'll look at my next appointment, then depending on my body and Bentley we might set a date for me to be induced. That is if she hasn't come already on her own. Personally I have a feeling she's going to come early on her own. Even though I haven't technically met her yet, I know she is VERY strong, VERY stubborn and is going to be VERY independent. She's going to be just like me David always says...He's thrilled ;) haha.

Here are the 2 pictures he got of her today...

This is her from the side. In the real picture you can see she has pretty full lips like me.
This one is a little on the freaky side..haha. It's acually her looking right at you. You can see her eyes open, her nose, her mouth which was also open and her pointy little chin. David says he thinks she has his nose. Whether he's being serious or not I don't know, but either way it was really exciting to see her today. We're both so anxious for her to finally be here!

Now for me...

I am COMPLETELY packed. She hits both my hips with her hands while at the same time pushing up on my ribs with her butt. I wish I had just a little bit bigger torso, that would make these last few weeks so much more bearable :) Since she's dropped so much this week there is double the pressure on my bladder so at night time I get up like 5 times to pee...it's great...NOT! Sleeping isn't completely impossible yet, but slowly getting harder and harder. I have a "harness" I call it that I use some days when I know I'm going to be walking a lot. It helps take off a lot of the pressure on my back and hips which start to KILL by the end of the day.

Here are my 32 week belly shots...

As you can see I still have an "inny" belly button. I'm not that surprised because my belly button was SOO deep to begin with. My family jokes with me that they look for my belly button on my back because they think it goes all the way through. David and I have decided my belly button is like Bentley's timer. Once my belly button pops out or "dings" she's done cooking and ready to come out :) It still fits half the length of my pinky nail so she has some more time left haha. As I get closer to the time of giving birth I've been getting more scared. For some reason I am pretty scared about labor and delivery. So I signed David and I up for a birthing class at the hospital. We go on September 16th & 23rd for a few hours in the evening. I'm hoping this eases a little of my anxiety. My books say the more you educate yourself the better and more confident you'll feel when the time comes. So I read, research on the internet and ask everyone and anyone as many questions as I can. Hopefully that confidence kicks in soon though :)

Random Moments...

No pictures to post, just a few funny stories and baby updates...

Bentley has had the hiccups quite a few times now. The first time was July 22nd at 4:30 in the morning! I got up to go pee and when I layed back down I could feel this faint little kicking (so I thought). After like 5-10 minutes and I was annoyed I couldn't fall back to sleep because she kept kicking me, it dawned on me that these were very rhythmic kicks and exceptionally light. I then realized she had the hiccups and it was the first time I could actually feel them. I still wanted to go back to sleep, but I couldn't help but smile and enjoy that amazing moment. It's little things like that I know I take for granted because it's something only a mother can feel. Although being pregnant has been rough between being super sick and now feeling like I'm about to explode because I'm so packed inside, I know I'm lucky. You can ask all the questions in the world, but you'll never fully understand what it's like until you have a little baby inside you, it really is quite amazing.

I'm almost 7 months, just a few more days, and I can tell she is getting sooo much stronger! She has always moved and kicked a lot, but these days they are HARD kicks. On Monday 8-1 I went grocery shopping for my Grannie and got dog food for our dogs. Well...all that moving and bending and lifting kicked my butt (granted lifting a 40 pound bag of dog food was not the best idea, but I think I still would have been wiped). At first I was just exhausted, as usual after shopping, but after a few hours I was really having trouble breathing because this pain on the left side of my chest was killing me! I whined and cried all night and could hardly eat because even the pressure of my stomach getting too big hurt. Well the next morning when I woke up the stabbing pain was gone but when I touched my ribs it KILLED! Apparently I had been given a swift kick to the ribs at some point and all that moving and shaking really irritated the bruises on my ribs. This was Bentley's first time out haha I told her kicking people is not a nice thing to do!! :) Lets just hope she doesn't break one next time.

My last story is about David. I can make fun of the silly things he does because I am just as guilty, I have my fair share of "duh" moments (ie. defrosting hamburgers in a toaster). Anyways, David pulled out the last half of the cookie dough to make cookies the other night but about 2 minutes after he sat back down from putting them in the oven I smell this burning smell. Now he's made cookies a million times before so I thought for sure he didn't put the oven on too high but I ask anyways what he has the oven set at because I can smell the cookies burning. He runs over there and pulls out the pan, I'm waiting for his response as to what he's done...I guess I can't make cookies on broil he says. I was confused because I thought for sure he said BROIL, so I ask him again what he had the oven set on. He tells me he had it on broil because I told him that cooks things faster and he wanted to eat his cookies faster haha Oh how I love him :) We got a good laugh out of it, but only after he was able to salvage them, otherwise I would have been quite angry because I really wanted me some cookies!!

Toy Story 3 in 3D

Sexy 3D glasses huh?! :) I think he looks like the little guys from Despicable Me

I swear I have somewhat of a tan now, but I get next to him and I look albino again!! I've layed out a few times since this so hopefully I have a little more sun.

I told David this is my "sexy" face haha

So David keeps telling me how horrible I am at taking pictures. I have to agree he's right, I don't mean to I just always forget :( So this is the beginning of my attempt to be better at taking pictures so that by the time Bentley gets here It'll be like second nature.

24 weeks - 6 months

So my pants looks super high in this picture above, but they really aren't. From the back you can almost see my crack lol I guess she's pretty low then huh? I think it changes by the day though really. Some days my hips are burning like crazy and I have to pee like every ten minutes. Then others I feel like I have one less rib and can hardly breath. She is for sure enjoying herself in there :)
Finally looking pretty round. These were at 24 weeks which was actually 2 weeks ago I've just been slow to posting. I'm already bigger than this I can tell. I had an appointment last week and I weighed 109...one more pound and I'm back to my beginning weight. Good or bad I haven't decided yet. I do my glucose test next week sometime, wish me luck...I hear it's a real beetch! lol Then my next appointment is August 11th and I should get another ultra sound within a day or two of that. Yay! I'm super excited to see what she looks like now.

David has been much more into the whole talking to my belly thing lately. I think it's because he feels like she actually responds back. She knows when he gets home from work. She goes nuts, I swear she's trying to get out. He lays on my belly and talks to her while rubbing my belly. She kicks HARD back and moves positions to be under where he's talking. It's really really cute, except when he talks to her before he goes to bed because then she's up for at least an hour and I'm stuck awake all by myself. It's so funny when he talks to her because he'll start spelling words. He says it's going to make her a genuis lol

Happy Father's Day!

I wrote a message on my belly for David. It was very difficult writing upside down and backwards, but I think I did okay. Made it look more like a little kid wrote it :) I also got the cutest "Daddy's Girl" outfit!
For once David slept in and I got up and made biscuits and gravy for him. Then we went to my parents and took my Dad to see The A-Team. It was super funny!

Here is our first picture of the baby at 8 weeks. We have another appointment on the 20th which I'll be a little over 12 weeks so hopefully we can get another ultrasound done.
